Events and Volunteer
Activation Manager

Position Title Events and Volunteer Activation Manager
Reporting to:  Head of Brand and Communications
Location:  218 Pandan Loop, Singapore 128408
Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

The Food Bank Singapore was set up in 2012 with a clear goal: to end food insecurity and reduce food waste. As a registered charity with IPC status, we currently support over 28 Feeding Partners and help more than 300,000 people across Singapore. We believe that telling our story well is just as important as the work we do — and that’s why we’re looking for someone exceptional to join our team.

To bring our mission to life, we’re looking for an Events and Volunteer Activation Manager — a key team member who will help us grow our impact through engaging events and a strong volunteer community. This role is ideal for someone who loves planning, thrives on connection, and believes in the power of people working together for a good cause. The Head of Brand and Communications will work closely with the Executive Director and other senior team members to make sure our messaging is clear, consistent, and impactful across all our platforms and programmes.

As the Events and Volunteer Activation Manager, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and running events that raise awareness, engage supporters, and support our fundraising goals. From food drives to major campaigns, school outreach to community events, you’ll help create moments that matter.

You’ll also lead our volunteer programme, inspiring, recruiting, and managing a wide range of volunteers, from corporate groups to individuals, schools, and families. Volunteers are the heart of our work, and your role will ensure they feel valued, supported, and connected to our mission.

This role reports to the Head of Brand and Communications and works closely with our Head of Fundraising.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Strategy and Development

  • Plan and manage events that raise visibility and support for The Food Bank Singapore (e.g. awareness campaigns, food drives, donor events, school talks, and community activations).
  • Develop creative ways to involve the public in our mission through engaging, hands-on experiences.
  • Lead the volunteer strategy — from recruitment and onboarding to engagement and retention.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to identify volunteer needs and ensure smooth scheduling and logistics.
  • Maintain and grow a volunteer database, including communication and feedback processes.
  • Represent The Food Bank Singapore at events and external engagements, building positive relationships with schools, companies, community groups, and the public.
  • Work with the communications team to tell meaningful stories about our events and volunteers.

Content, Campaigns, and Public Engagement

  • Develop and oversee content strategy across digital, print, and earned media.
  • Lead campaigns that elevate our mission, encourage giving, and promote key events such as The Hunger Report and SG60 initiatives.
  • Manage media relations, including press releases, op-eds, media events, and issue-based campaigns.

Website and Social Media

  • Oversee website management, SEO optimisation, and paid digital media performance.
  • Drive social media engagement across platforms to grow audiences and build awareness.
  • Ensure our digital channels reflect our identity, tell compelling stories, and invite action.

Donor and Stakeholder Communications

  • Craft powerful and persuasive communications for donors, sponsors, and partners.
  • Oversee the production of key publications including the Annual Report, donor newsletters, and impact stories.
  • Build strong messaging frameworks to support fundraising, advocacy, and community engagement.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Lead and develop a small, high-performing communications team.
  • Work closely with departments including Fundraising, Programmes, and Operations to ensure alignment in storytelling and messaging.
  • Support internal communications and contribute to a strong organisational culture.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in event management, community engagement, or volunteer coordination.
  • Strong people skills — you enjoy connecting with people from all walks of life and building relationships.
  • Excellent organisational and project management abilities, with attention to detail.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups and managing logistics on the ground.
  • Passionate about social causes and eager to make a difference in the community.
  • Flexible to work some evenings and weekends when events are held.
