Ian Butler

In November 2020, Ian Butler came across a TV program about the impact of climate change on food supply. That was the first time he heard about FBSG fighting food insecurity in Singapore. Inspired, Ian wasted no time. Within a week he had already enrolled as a FBSG volunteer and he hasn’t stopped since!
While Ian began with packing and inventorying items in the warehouse, he soon got trained as a bundle leader to support other volunteers. Ian is a retiree who previously ran an HR consultancy firm. His special skills and work experience were soon recognized at FBSG, and he has since also become involved with supporting our team’s career and personal development journey.
Regarding his experience at FBSG, Ian shares “I feel welcomed, very much part of the Foodbank team. I have become involved in a variety of warehouse duties and meet a lot of different people of many ages. For anybody who is interested but a little bit uncertain, I would be happy to give a guided tour, before they commit themselves to anything.”
Come meet Ian and our other amazing volunteers to explore volunteering opportunities at FBSG. Connect with us at volunteer@foodbank.sg
