Here at The Food Bank Singapore, we believe that it is critical to plant the seed of service and social responsibility from a young age.
FBSG’s Juniors Club programme builds awareness among the littlest members of our community and involves them in making an impactful, positive social change.
Through a range of experiential learning opportunities and a highly engaging curriculum, our young participants develop an understanding of food insecurity in Singapore. This empowers them to take informed, purposeful steps towards ending hunger.
Ad-hoc volunteering opportunities and activities are are held every quarter during the school holidays for children aged 5 to 12 years old.
Juniors Club is a seasonal program during school holidays. Follow us on social media or keep a look out on our website for our next Juniors Club programme!
Warehouse Session
The childrem will have a tour of Food Bank’s warehouse and assist in sorting, packing or taking inventory of the donations. Through this activity, the kids will get to learn more on identifying food categories, expiry labels and how our warehouse operates.
Food Distribution through our Joy In Every Bundle programme
The kids will assist in packing individual food bundles and distributing them to the individual beneficiaries at their homes. Through this activity, the kids will get to learn more about our beneficiary organisations and experience distributing food to those in need and their living conditions.
Excursions / External Collaboration
The kids will get the chance to visit local farms and food production/wastage factories or participate in a Cooking class. Through these trips, the kids will have a better understanding on how food is being produced and increase in the appreciation of the foods that they consume.
