FBSG releases a new video series titled Our FoodBanker Stories

Introducing our very own and new series: “Our Foodbanker Stories”!

An original series produced by The Food Bank Singapore where we tell the stories of our FoodBankers past and present, and what it’s like when we say once a foodbanker, always a foodbanker.

We started filming this series with the intent to show the audience what it means to be a Foodbanker #irl. More importantly, the firsthand stories of how FBSG has gotten to where we are today because of the passionate individuals that have come on board the team over the past ten years.

There’s never a dull moment at The Food Bank Singapore, you’ll see!

Catch the 5 episodes released bi-weekly here.

Junior’s Club 2022

Junior's Club 2022

During the June holidays, we had over 100 Juniors Club members gather from all over Singapore attend our June sessions! We had a fun and engaging “Adventures with Bala and Friends” programme for our children ages 5-9 years old and “Joy in Every Bundle” programme for our 10-16 years old. Our little ones participated in hands-on activities to develop an understanding of food waste and food insecurity.
What is FBSG’s Juniors Club Programme?

FBSG’s Juniors Club Programme builds awareness among the littlest members of our community and involves them in making an impactful, positive social change. Here at The Food Bank Singapore, we believe that it is critical to plant the seed of service and social responsibility starting at a young age. Through a range of experiential learning opportunities and a highly engaging curriculum, our young participants develop an understanding of food insecurity and food wastage in Singapore. This empowers them to take informed, purposeful steps towards ending hunger.

We are very grateful to all the children who attended these sessions and all the parents who supported our event! A big thank you to all the volunteers who led these sessions and not forgetting our very own FBSG team that made this possible.
AND IT’S A WRAP!

Highest inflation increase in 10 Years Reported, Food prices rising…

2022 has been a year of uncertainty and insecurity.

According to the latest MAS survey, the overall inflation rate for the whole of 2022 is projected to reach 5%. Consequently, food prices have and will inevitably rise. Along with unexpected events such as Malaysia’s halt of chicken exports, panic buying and hoarding, anyone at any moment can be vulnerable to food insecurity, even in an affluent country such as Singapore.

Food insecurity is a real threat and Food banks are vital to supporting families in need before, during and after a crisis. Help FBSG continue our crucial work in service of our community.

Here is how you can help:

To Fund a Beneficiary for 1 Month, SGD$100 is all it takes. (S$3.30 per day, less than a cup of bubble tea)

  • SGD$25 pledges 1 Food Bundle to 1 Beneficiary.
  • SGD$50 funds 1 Food Bank Card to 1 Beneficiary for 15 Days.
  • SGD$100 funds 1 Food Bank Card to 1 Beneficiary for 30 Days.
