Developed in response to insights from Hunger Report II which highlighted that food insecurity is often accompanied by unmet non-food needs.
While The Food Bank Singapore has addressed some non-food needs, such as hygiene kits, on an ad-hoc basis over the years, the Back-to-School Support Programme marks a more intentional and targeted effort to support school-going children from families on financial assistance schemes.
Programme kit comprises a cotton lunch tote, basic stationery set, recess and/or breakfast-appropriate snack and drinks for primary & secondary school children from lower income families.
Beneficiaries for the Back-to-School Support Programme will be identified via schools and beneficiary parthers.
