Developed in response to insights from Hunger Report II which highlighted that food insecurity is often accompanied by unmet non-food needs.
While The Food Bank Singapore has addressed some non-food needs, such as hygiene kits, on an ad-hoc basis over the years, the Back-to-School Support Programme marks a more intentional and targeted effort to support school-going children from lower-income households.
The Back-to-School Support kit comprises recess and/or breakfast-appropriate food, snack and drinks, basic stationery set housed in a soft case and a cotton lunch tote to hold everything.
Beneficiaries for the Back-to-School Support Programme will be identified via schools and the existing beneficiary partners of The Food Bank Singapore. The Back-to-School Support Programme will be launched in Feb’26.
