The Food Bank Singapore (FBSG) is committed to protecting the personal data of all stakeholders, including donors, beneficiaries, volunteers, employees, and partners. This Privacy Policy outlines how FBSG collects, uses, and discloses personal data, ensuring compliance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA), the Charities Act 1994, and the Code of Governance for Charities and IPCs.

Data Protection Obligations
FBSG adhere to the following obligations:

  1. Consent: Personal data is collected, used, or disclosed with consent unless required by law.
  2. Purpose Limitation: Personal data is used strictly for its specified purposes.
  3. Accuracy: Steps are taken to ensure the accuracy and completeness of personal data that FBSG collects.
  4. Protection: Reasonable security measures are in place to protect personal data from unauthorised access or loss.
  5. Retention Limitation: Personal data is retained only as necessary or as required by law.
  6. Access and Correction: Stakeholders have the right to access and have their personal data corrected by FBSG.
  7. Data Breach Notification: If there is a data breach which will likely result in significant harm to individuals and/or are of significant scale, we will notify the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) and affected individuals as soon as practicable.

Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Personal Data

  • Managing and coordinating volunteer engagement.

  • Meeting legal and regulatory obligations.

Personal data may be shared with authorised service providers, partners, or regulatory bodies, only when necessary and with consent.

Access, Correction and Withdrawal of Consent
Stakeholders may request access to and/or for their personal data to be corrected. Stakeholders may also withdraw their consent, with reasonable notice, by contacting our Data Protection Officer (DPO). We may also charge a reasonable fee where applicable.
